What to Write About in a Blog Post
Are you at a loss for words when composing your next blog post? It’s easy when you just get started on your blog and have your mind full of what to say. But as you know, when you start a blog, you become a publisher. And publishers are responsible for inserting daily news. Just like receiving the newspaper at your doorstep each and everyday, you have to deliver relevant content each and every week or month, depending on how much you plan on adding to your blog.
At the beginning, when faced with the responsibility of inserting content, quite often there is the enthusiasm to write and add lots of great content to a blog. But soon after this becomes “routine,” a writer of a blog may get ether less than enthusiastic or even get mental blocks on what to write about.
You have two choices to make when this happens. One, take a break from your blog and surf the internet for news about your industry. You would not believe how much inspiration you can get by spreading your mind over what is being talked about in your blog topic. Second, you could just outsource the writing of blog posts to someone else that has a new point of view of your industry. Or, you can do a combination of both of these options. Remember that there is literally an unlimited way to express the same thing. Creativity is the answer to writers “mental block.”
Here are some ways to get over “mental block” to keep generating more interesting content on your blog:
- start a poll about an interesting topic
- do a “top 10″ of useful tips
- write a profile post of someone in your industry
- expand on a particular topic that has great impact on your customers
- talk about a real life case study on a relevant topic
- make and insert a video
- tell a story with digital pictures inserted into the post
- make a recommendation of a book or product
- update your audience on what is going on in your company
- preview what promotions you will have coming up
These are just some of the things you can creatively come up with when thinking about what to post. Keep your creative juices flowing!
