Business blogs are the answer to successful web based marketing of your brick and mortar business. More and more people are going online to search for where to buy a product or service at a physical location. It is no secret that online is pushing more business to the offline business community. The obvious reason is that online searching can take a fraction of the time it takes versus letting their “fingers do the walking.”
Web based marketing is an exploding trend in increasing sales to local businesses. Currently the trend reveals that a website of a business is most often looked at before the customer actually visits the location. They want to find pricing, name brand products, quality of presentation and availability, AND they want to compare these same items with other businesses in their locale. What better way than to use a computer to do it faster with more accuracy? When using a 3 inch thick directory, how often do you find that you can’t find what you are looking for. Also, much of the data you find in a physical directory is outdated even when the ink from the printer is still “wet” when your directory is delivered. With the internet, most businesses update their sites to reflect the most current information that a customer needs to know.
Very soon, web based marketing will also be branching off into “mobile” applications. With the dawn of the Apple iPhone, there will be advertising agencies hooking up with ad networks that will spread advertisements to cell phones. This is one of the last bastions of getting people’s attention for advertising a business message.
