Search Engine Optimization and Blogs

After going through my mailbag today, I find many questions are asked about how blogs and SEO work together. First of all, what is SEO? For the “newbies,” it stands for “search engine optimization.” What is search engine optimization? It is the science of doing all you can to maximize favor of your website/blog with the search engines.

The key is to get your website found in the easiest way possible. The best way to do that is with the help of all the search engines “helping” you by showing a listing of your website URL on the first page (preferrable) when someone types in anything that has relevance to your business, your product, or service.

The most popular choice of search engine to attract is, of course, Google. But the reality is, you should also aggressively go get listed with Yahoo, MSN (BING), Alta Vista, Looksmart, AllTheWeb, Ask, Lycos, etc. The list can go on but nonetheless, the search engines listed here is the minimum if you want to maximize your effort in the SEO world.

When blogging, the blog post title is the most important part of attracting search engines within the blog. After that, relevant keywords and keyword phrases written within the blog post are considered the second most important part of the SEO attraction process. The third important part, which reinforces the first two methods is a blog plugin called “all in one seo.” This is a plugin that is written specifically for WordPress blogging software. When using this plugin properly, it will enhance what you already did to maximize search engine attraction at the headline and recurring parts of the blog post. We will go into detail on this plugin in the next post.

Just remember that a blog is the best way to set up an online presence that can maximize visitor traffic to your site and consequently, bring in real buyers to your “brink and mortar” business.
