We have mentioned that blogs by their very nature are “search engine magnets.” What that means is that they have several items built in that let the search engines “know” that there are changes to the website. You see, whenever there are changes made such as, adding content or changing content, search engines are notifed with a “ping,” or a “knock on their door,” that they should come back and visit your site.

Here are some other specific things that blogs do to attract the search engines.

  1. Tags and categories built in to each post by the author
  2. Allowing comments – user generated content
  3. Allowing blog author to insert search keywords and keyword phrases in the title post area
  4. Allowing blog author to use header tag #1, #2, & #3 in a post. (further attracts search engines)
  5. Plugins like “All in One SEO,” allows blog author to further attract search engines like adding meta tags and keyword descriptions of blog post.

If you know what tools are available to you and actually use it, your blog will be optimized for search engines.
