Marketing your business with a blog
By
There are many ways that your business blog can market your offline business. First of all, the likelyhood of someone looking for your physical location of your business online is close to 100%. Gone are the days of the thick and bulky “yellow pages” that take up your whole cupboard just to be used 5 times a year, while putting a strain on the shelf it sits on. We now head towards the search engines and let our fingers do the “hampster dance” on the keyboard to find what we are looking for.
Besides having a blog online so the search engines can find you, here are the best 5 ways to market your business with a blog:
- Pass out flyers with your blog URL address on it. Be brief on describing the benefits to your customers
- Make at least 20 “cold calls” per week to businesses that could benefit from your business.
- Contact at least 5 people you know that can send you referrals to your URL address.
- Make it a point to go to at least one new website a day and send them email with a back link to your blog URL address.
- Finally, go to a networking event where you are face to face with prospects at least twice a month. Goal here is to grab at least 3 new contacts at each location.
As you can see, all the above (with the exception of printing costs for #1) is all “free” ways of marketing your blog.
When you send people to your blog, you have your next goal in mind….force them to be interactive with you there. Here is how you do that.
Provide at least 4 ways of the visitor to click on your blog site.
They can:
- opt-in to your mailing list
- click on a button to buy an ebook of yours
- click on the comment button to make a comment
- click to fill out a poll you are taking on your blog
Give people a reason to return to your site again and again.
