Making Your Blog Valuable To Your Customers

By Bruce · Tuesday, June 1st, 2010

One of the most important things you can ever do is make your blog valuable to your customers. In other words, give them relevant information they should know about the product or service you offer with great value to them. The old sales adage, “what’s in it for me?” comes to mind. Truth is, the typical customer could care less about you and your business. They want, and need your product or service because they need a solution to their problem.

So, in essence, to make your blog valuable to your customers, give them timely advice that they can use now to solve their problem. If you sell shovels, you aren’t actually selling shovels, you are selling the hole that the shovel makes when using it to dig in the ground. Think about it for a moment. Once you realize what is inside your customer’s mind then selling to them becomes so easy and generating a following will be equally easy.

If you provide important and useful information your blog audience will come back again and again and THEN you will have succeeded in your blog’s existence in the first place.

In the posts to follow, we will focus on ways to help make your blog “important” to your customers.
