How much content is enough for a blog?

By

ANSWER: There is never enough content that a blog can contain!

To get the most value out of your business blog, you have to keep feeding it with content on a daily basis. Whether it is twice a week, five times a week, everyday, one thing is certain, you have to give a reason why someone would want to come back to visit your site again and again. Hence your responsibility as a “publisher” of quality content in your business or industry.

I liken the blog to a daily newspaper. How funny we hear that hard copy newspaper companies are going out of business across our country. More and more people are going online to read their news. This news could be their local town news, national, or international. They also find news within the specific niches that they are interested in that conventional newspapers would not cover.

People are going online to find facts, research, “how to” articles, hook up with old classmates, locate their neighborhood “cleaners,” and so on. There is literally no limit to what one is going online to find now days.

So, with that, there is no time when you want to “stop” putting content in your blog. You have to remember that you are now the expert in what your business does and it is very important to “feed” the hungry public that wants your information.

One of the most valuable assests that your business will generate is the growing population of all the content, collectively, that will be part of your blog. It is important to the search engines, page rank, creating a “history” with your visitors and further adding to the credibility of your business. If your blog has a lot of post pages of very good content related to your industry, many great benefits will happen to you and your business. We will get into detail with those benefits in the next post.

Although it may seem like a very tedius task to think about, just make sure you think of it as part of your regular regimen of what you do when you open the doors to your offline business each and everyday. After you stock the shelves, clean the tables, sweep the floors, and fill the cash register, don’t forget to enter one post in your blog to start off the day before you meet your first customer.

Once you make it a habit to add content every week, it does not overwhelm you. Just remember that your blog now is part of your marketing arsenal of your business.
