Blogs attract search engines

Internet connectionIt is no secret with the search engine optimization geeks, blogs attract search engines….period! The very nature of a blog was made to get noticed by the search engines through many ways:

  1. By adding new post or article, it will “ping” or “notify” search engines. This includes any changes made to the blog.
  2. Categories attached to each post will let search engines know the relavent material that is written within the post or article.
  3. Blog “tags” will also add to indexing withing the search engines.
  4. Blog “headlines” will also be noticed.
  5. Adding a tagged video, picture or audio clip will also attract search engines.
  6. RSS Feeds. One of the main features that is built into blogs is the ability for people to subscribe to a blog “feed.” RSS, which stands for real simple syndication is similar to bookmarking a favorite site. Once someone is subscribed to a blog site, anytime there is a new post made, the subscriber is made aware of it and returns to visit that site again.

If you compare how blogs attract search engines versus a “static” or non blog website, you will see that more and more businesses are “trading” in their existing static website for a blog. Did you know that blogs make excellent stand alone websites for your business? It becomes a “contact management system” which we will go into detail in a later post.

So, if you want to maximize exposure to your business to more people in a quick manner, get a blog!
